Coming Soon and Available for Pre-order, 12mm HARDOX500 Steel Targets tested on Peak View Range.
These targets are designed to last and if used within these specs will last a long time.
7yards to 50m+: 22Lr & Pistol Calibers under 1600fps
50m-100m+: Muzzle velocities up to 3200fps and up to 30cal
200m+: up to 50cal.
Obviously AP Rounds will damage them, but they're currently lot legal to shoot, although note that after 5 years of testing we have been able to successfully pit our 100m targets with lead tipped .243/6mm at 3600fps and A-Tip 300winmag, only minor surface pitting but beware that soft tips like lead and some alloys will melt like a plasma cutter when you're too close.
NZ Police have a handy range manual that recommends best practices for minimum engagement distances and how to set them up, remember to read up on the Range Rules and make sure you avoid their $10,000 fine (ad hoc sighting in is fine on private land but if you let your mates shoot there regularly or start a club or business you need to be registered with FSA Clubs and Ranges).
Bunnies of Balyang Targets are designed in Australia and now made locally in New Zealand, this means they are approximately the same price as Australia but +7% for the exchange rate and +5% for the GST difference.
