22lr Precision Rifle - Nelson vs Marlborough

Join us at the range for an Intro to Precision Rifle Shooting. A casual day of 22lr shooting with a friendly competition between the Nelson and Marlborough Deerstalker clubs.

(Prospective members for deerstalkers or PVR are also welcome to come meet other friendly shooters)

BYO bolt action 22lr is permitted. We recommend 2x10 mags and we have spare 10/22 mags if needed.

We can provide equipment you can test out and we can provided consumables if needed.

Scores between sides are averaged, last year Marlborough narrowly walked away with a 2 point lead.

If Ammo is provided then all provided ammunition must be used onsite under supervision of the Range Safety Officer (RSO).

First time visitors, arrive at the bridge by 9:45 where you will be met by one of the team.

10am safety brief followed by the match brief.

5 Stages.

Round Count: Approx. 50 rounds + tie breaker (if needed)

On the completion of the match while scores are being generated you are welcome to reshoot the 22lr stages with your own rifle(or try again with a semi) and/or ammo, please ensure you have a RSO present at each stage.

Approx. 10 shots per stage (if shot in under the 90 second time limit – some stages may be designed to time out).

Spectator’s welcome – please stay off the stages and follow the direction of the Range Safety Officers.

Spectators will also need to arrive and sign in BEFORE the 10am match brief

· From Hori Bay bridge follow the signs 2km to the Range

o 4x4 not required but expect a dirty car

· Park at the entrance to the range for sign in and briefing

Alcohol, Drugs, Smoking:

· Smoking is strictly banned due to the fire risk, vaping is permitted in the carpark(s).

· Alcohol and Drugs are prohibited on the Range.

Inclement Weather:

· Option 1: Get wet… Option two... get wet... if the highway is open then we are.

All rifles have a 16” barrel with velocities of approx. 1045fps (boxed velocity is 1070)

Zeroed at 50m

Distances and approx. data is provided at each stage based on this so if you use a similar ammo you're in luck.
