Service Description
Our Level 2 Introduction to Long Range Course is designed to give shooters with some experience a better understanding of the mechanics of long-range shooting. The Inclusive Experience version is aimed at those that ave already completed the Level 1 course or experience and want to dive into the long range world. Depending on your goals our instructors will tailor the course to your needs. This experience will include 22lr shooting to get familiar with dial up scopes, 223/5.56 out to 430m and 6.5 creedmoor out to 725m. This course will cover: Setting up a rifle, rings, and scope for the shooter and their intended activity Techniques for zeroing quickly without wasting ammo Zeroing distance, discussion of Max Point Blank Range (MPBR) Pros and cons of MRAD and MOA Crash course on speed-milling (taught further in Level 3 Course) Setup and discussion of ballistics mobile apps, (Strelok, Element Ballistics, Ballistic-X etc) Positional shooting away from the bench / how to build a practical shooting position in the field Discussion on the HOW and WHY we choose to do things a certain way No stupid questions – we welcome discussion that challenges our methods, and often we’ll learn things from customers that we can incorporate into future courses. Lots of shooting! The instructor will be spotting and recording your shots through a digitized spotting scope. This allows us to dissect and discuss each shot or group and quickly identify areas for improvement, without wasting ammo. The Level 2 Course assumes a shooter will bring their own equipment, but this option if for those that are looking to try before they buy, and we can help dispel some common myths and beliefs about firearms that might not hold true in modern sport shooting. Please contact us in advance to arrange the type of equipment you would like to use (firearms, optics, bipods, tripods, etc) and we can have it ready and waiting when you arrive. This course sits at an intermediate level in our lesson structure and sets a shooter up well for the content taught in the advanced course, which covers more maths and theory. If you’re not sure where you fit into the course structure, get in touch and we can either help guide you into the lesson that’s right for you, or create a custom session for you.
