Service Description

Introduction to the Range and RSO Brief. Please bring a 22lr to this session if you have one. Once you become a PVR Range Safety Officer, your details will be kept on file for Police to know that you are qualified to supervise the range users. We have an online quiz you can complete once you get to the range (scan the QR code) or you can do it early by navigating to the RSO page on the Members Only Tab. A note on details and Privacy; Under the Arms Act we are required to keep a list of Range Officers - our interpretation is Name and FAL number, anything more would be a breech of the Privacy Act (collecting information that is not required) - we will NOT record your home address despite FSA requesting that we do. It is poor practice for anyone to know where you store your firearms and our local station has a habit of “losing” this information. (We have be victims to 3 NZP data breeches and are helping a third party gather a list of others effected, if you’re Top of the South and have had your details “lost” please let us know - they will be taking action down the track). It’s also worth noting becoming a member of a range is not a triggering event 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ (yes this was an incorrect statement made by a FSA employee in Nelson) This is recommended for all members that intend to bring family and friends to the range.
